At LUC LEROUX, we take sustainability seriously and strive to minimize our environmental impact through responsible production and use of sustainable materials. Here you can read about the materials we use for our sunglasses and why sustainability is a core value for us:

Our “Sustainable” sunglasses are produced with environmentally friendly recycled materials.

 

  • Recycled Materials: Our sunglasses are made from recycled materials, reducing waste and saving resources.
    They are 100% recycled from food containers, bottles and capsules.
    Our sustainable sunglasses have recycled frames and/or recycled lenses. The material used for the frame is recycled polyester, known as rPCTG.
    The lenses are made from 100% recycled polymethyl methacrylate, known as rPMMA-L
  • Recycled metal frames: All sustainable metal sunglasses are made from recycled metal. Here it’s iron pipes that are pressed and bent. To make the metal shine, a special coating is used. This eliminates the need for nickel and our sunglasses will pass any nickel test.
  • Packaging: The sunglasses are packed in a biodegradable bag to protect the sunglasses from scratches before use.
    If you want to save the environment even more, you can opt out of the accessories that are otherwise included. We will then produce fewer of these and you will have saved our planet a little. Just let us know when you place an order in the webshop and we will make sure they are not included.

 

Unfortunately, not all frame shapes, frame colors or lens colors can be made from recycled materials. There are technical limitations.
But we think it’s important that we offer this alternative and highlight that sustainability is also an important part of the sunglasses industry.
